Devotional activities in the association of devotees, increases the concentration of our mind.
Love is divine. Love is something out of this world. Love is on the level of the soul. One soul loves the other soul and all the souls love the Supreme Soul and the Supreme Soul loves all the souls. That is love, that is loving dealing, loving reciprocation, which we miss a lot here in this material world.
Keep the mind fit. Keep the mind healthy. If the consciousness is contaminated, the consciousness of the soul is not healthy, then the mind is not healthy, then the body is not healthy. So ultimately it depends upon the health of the soul, the consciousness of the soul.
A person can only be content when his soul is satisfied. In Krishna consciousness you can be satisfied. The soul is satisfied, then the mind is satisfied, the body can also be satisfied and kept happy with just a few needs.
Something we hear, temporary, the music, this, that, touch, smell give some temporary pleasure, but that is flickering. It disappears like the bubbles. How long do the bubbles last? They don’t last very long.
It is already day and night, rich and poor, man and woman, you go on adding. There is a big list of dvandva, duality of this material existence. And on top of that, we add one more: his disciple, my disciple, your disciple, this guru, that guru. This is yet another dimension of duality.
The mind is the principal cause of bondage and the same mind also could become the cause of our moksha, liberation. So this mind factor is a very meagere factor in our lives. In fact, we are governed by the mind’s dictations, knowingly or unknowingly we will follow them all the time.
I and mine. In these four syllables there is the whole Maya: aham and mama. My house, my wealth, my family, if nothing, then my dog. But our kartavya (only duty) is Hari Kirtanam.
When we perform our yoga, bhakti-yoga or japa-yoga, then what is between us – the souls and the Supreme Soul? What is in the middle that could cause the distraction ? THE MIND
